The third meeting of the City of Cape Town Climate Change "Think Tank" was held at the Civic Centre on the 20th of May. The Think Tank was established with funding from the Royal Danish Embassy to undertake, review and assess a wide range of research aspects related to climate change and the City of Cape Town under the broad theme: Understanding and Preparing for Climate Change: Mitigation and Adaptation.

This meeting brought together academics, specialists and City officials to assess and interrogate the projects that are already underway including:

• the Long Term Mitigation Scenarios (LTMS) for the City of Cape Town with implications for City coffers
• Marine and Freshwater Systems Modelling that considers the combined effect of inland and sea flooding on the City of Cape Town
• The Climate Adaptation Plan of Action - Coastal Cities Climate Adaptation Informal Network (C3AIN)
• Legal review methodology
