Warren Smit and Mercy Brown-Luthango will report back on recent conferences attended. Warren will report back on the 8th Biennial Society of South African Geographers (SSAG) Conference, Centurion, 1-3 September 2009 . Mercy will report back on the Sociological Association (ISA) – Research Committee 21 (RC 21) conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil, 23 – 25 August, 2009. The theme of the conference was "Inequality, Inclusion and a Sense of Belonging".
