Speaker: Professor Ulrike Rivett

Professor Rivett will speak about the Spatial Data Management project the focus of which lies in using converging technologies that are based on local needs and offer an alternative to the usual "off the shelf" approach to data acquisition and the management of spatial information. The objective is to research and develop technological solutions that support spatial information needs and to strive to identify low-cost and sustainable tools that are appropriate for the local context, both within South Africa and throughout the developing world
